About Seven West Flooring Solutions

We do tile and flooring because we noticed no one else was doing it right for the homeowner.

How This Started

I spent the first fourteen years of my career working for other flooring companies, watching how they operated. I'd show up to jobs, do solid work, and move on. But I kept hearing the same story from homeowners: contractors who rushed, skipped details, and didn't follow up. The workmanship was surface-level. The communication was nonexistent. By the time I'd finished a project, the homeowner was already frustrated about something that could have been prevented with five minutes of honest conversation up front.

In 2015, I decided to start Seven West Flooring Solutions. Not because I thought I was smarter than anyone else, but because I believed there was room for a business that actually cared about the details that no one else seemed to notice. The uneven grout line. The way water sits at the base of the toilet. The small talk that makes a homeowner feel heard. I wanted to build something where those things mattered.

The early years were long. I was doing the work and running the business. But every single job taught me something. How to read a room before I even started measuring. How to explain what we were doing so homeowners understood why we made certain choices. How to spot problems in a space that the homeowner didn't even know they had yet. That's when I realized this wasn't just about laying tile or refinishing floors. It was about understanding what the homeowner actually needed, and then delivering more than they expected.

'Good work is good work. But the difference between good and great is usually something small—the homeowner just has to notice it first.'

What We've Learned

After 26 years in this trade, a few things have become non-negotiable. The first is that every project lives or dies in the details. We've seen jobs fail because someone didn't measure twice, or because they cut corners on prep work that no one would ever see. We've also seen projects transform entirely because someone spent an extra hour getting the grout perfectly level. So we measure twice. We prep three times. Our clients notice the difference because their floors don't crack, their grout doesn't stain, and their tiles stay exactly where we put them.

The second is that communication prevents surprises. We've learned that most project frustrations happen because a homeowner didn't understand what was happening or why. So before we start, we walk through the space. We explain what we're doing and why we're doing it that way. If something changes mid-project, we tell you immediately instead of hoping it goes unnoticed. This approach takes longer, but it means your project runs smoothly because we're all on the same page.

The third is that locally owned means something. We're not a franchise following a playbook. We're here. We know the climate, the water quality, the local building quirks. We've done hundreds of projects in this area, and we understand what materials and methods actually work. We stand behind our work because we live here and we'll see you at the grocery store. That matters to how we show up.

What It's Like Working With Us

You'll notice pretty quickly that we're not in a rush. We show up on time, we stay focused, and we clean as we go so your home isn't buried in dust at the end of the day. You'll also notice that we ask questions—lots of them. Not because we're uncertain, but because your vision for the space matters to us, and we want to make sure we understand it completely before we move forward.

When your project is done, it's not just finished. It's done the way it should be done. If you have a question six months later, you can call and ask. We're here. That's what it means to work with a locally owned flooring company that's been doing this for nearly three decades. If you're thinking about a tile or flooring project, reach out. We'd like to talk about what you're imagining.
